Intended primarily to receive deliveries and send out debris, Fogarty Finger was challenged by the client to revitalize this freight lobby and design a space capable of occasionally serving tenants. The resulting industrial space ensures continued functionality while creating a presentable point of access. Existing durable materials – concrete, brick, and metal – are presented cleanly next to new blackened steel highlights. A series of standard T5 fluorescent lamps are arranged into an attractive hovering hexagonal pattern. Seen through new oversized glass doors at the street, the freight lobby is no longer relegated to back-of-house.
